Wow - I used to think I was picky, now not so much! 😉

Don’t like raw onions with anything, ever. Onions must be cooked before adding to certain dishes. Like my chili recipe, the onion is cooked with the meat. If you add raw onion to chili it ruins the whole pot, even if its crock pot chili. However, raw onion added to a pot roast cooking in a crockpot, is required, same with chicken and noodles.

Used to hate Mayo and preferred MW. Now its the opposite.

I agree with some of these. For example, raw onions shall not be consumed on or with anything, ever. Cooked onions, however, are a staple of my cooking. I can’t think of many dishes I make that don’t have onion in some form or another.

I’m another one about vegetables on sandwiches. Sandwiches shouldn’t crunch.

I love most artificial fruit flavors but don’t like any fruit other than tomatoes and apples.

I loathe yellow mustard but love most other varieties, except on hot dogs. Hot dogs require yellow mustard and ketchup (shut up). NOTHING else can go on a hot dog, no relish, mayo, cheese “sauce”, etc.

I love peanuts but only like creamy peanut butter.

Just like my entire family, I hate mayo but I like tuna salad made with that sandwich spread stuff. Yes, I realize it’s mayo-based. I still like it. I still hate mayo on anything, as it ruins a sandwich.

I can’t eat plain hard-boiled eggs, even with salt and pepper. I can eat scrambled eggs and fried eggs, and I like chopped hard-boiled egg in salads, but all alone a hard-boiled egg will make me gag.

WTF??? roasted red peppers and tomatoes aren’t even in the same family.

And how is the person in the first post, just like the person in the second post?

Eman Resu: Can’t eat any chunky varierty of tomatoe, only the liquified version.
EinsteinsHund: Can’t eat the juice of the tomatoe, but can in any other form.

The thought of ketchup on a hot dog/sausage when it’s on a bun makes my stomach flop but when I eat a hot dog/sausage plain I always have a blob of ketchup for dipping.

Most sandwiches, I like cheese on. Cheddar, swiss, american (real american, not that kraft singles shit), whatever, I like it.

But if you so much as think about putting swiss on my fucking French dip, I’m sending it back. When I started eating the things, they never had swiss on them, then one day every place in the world suddenly decided “oh lets put swiss on them” and I will not put up with that. Bread, beef (preferably on the dry side), au jus. NOTHING ELSE.

I’m with **pancakes**. for years and years I refused to eat cherries because I thought I didn’t like them. Turns out, cherries and cherry flavoring taste absolutely nothing alike, and it’s just the flavoring that bothers me. I also can’t stand peas, yet I usually like split pea soup.

Also, soon-to-be-Mr.-Jellyfish likes peanut butter and he likes chocolate, but hates them together, whereas I only like peanut butter in close proximity to chocolate.

With the exception of one kind of heirloom tomato\*, I loathe raw/cold (or room-temp) tomatoes. And even with that one heirloom, I’m not to fond of it, but it’s not bad.

But 5 minutes in the oven, or 2 minutes under the broiler–just so it’s hot: not cooked necessarily, just hot–and I’ll eat 'em all day.

And I love most cooked tomato products.

…and Pico de gallo. Which is raw, cold tomatoes with cilantro, onion and jalapenos. Go figure.

\*It’s squashy and kind of orangy/red. I know it when i see it.

I’m another tomato weirdo. I will consume tomatoes in any form _except_ tomato juice. Marinara? Love it. Tomato soup? Not my absolute favorite, but I’ll eat it. On a hot summer day there’s nothing better than thick slices of raw New Jersey Beefsteak tomato liberally salted.

Tomato juice literally makes me want to vomit. Once every five years or so, I think that I should give it another try. I figure that, since I like all other forms, I must be able to deal with tomato juice. Nope. One sip and I can feel the bile rising.

I have recently discovered that I like Bloody Marys; I think the Worcestershire and hot sauces offset whatever it is about the tomato juice that I can’t stand. I think I’m coming up on my every-five-years-or-so trial of straight-up tomato juice, so we’ll have to see how that goes.

Oh, and I don’t know if this really counts as fussy and illogical, but despite liking (or at worst tolerating) all other breakfast cereals, I can’t stand Grape-Nuts. It’s another one of those things I try every few years because I can’t think of a single logical reason why I wouldn’t like it, but every time I am reminded of how vile they are.

It can’t be a sugar thing; I like muesli and granola and all those other crunchy/healthy cereals. I love beer, and the ingredients for most beers are pretty similar to the contents of a box of Grape-Nuts (minus the water). I love whole grain breads, brown rice, quinoa, bulgur, farro, and all kinds of weird grains like that. But Grape-Nuts make me want to scour the inside of my mouth with steel wool to get rid of the taste.

I’ve remembered some others.
I love peas - warm or cold. I hate pea soup.

I love tomatoes raw. I eat them like apples. I like to bite a hole in them and suck out the innerds (just to gross out my boyfriend, who hates raw tomatoes). I hate canned (tinned) tomatoes.

Out of the question. Butter on pancakes will get the top pancake flung, Frisbee like, across the room (just kidding; but I definitely won’t eat it).

YOU are a FREAK.

75% of my favorite food in the world are simply alternate Butter Delivery Systems. Toast and pancakes top the list! Other Butter Delivery Systems of note:

cornbread

rice

noodles

saltines

graham crackers

baked apples

fried eggs (BASTED in butter…)

fried, baked, mashed potatoes

Triscuits

Shredded wheat… YES, you read it right! Spoon size shredded wheat… dipped in cool butter. Try it before you judge!

As mentioned in my OP: Cream o’ Wheat… stir some in, then make a depression with a pool of butter

Almost all kinds of bread, except strongly flavored breads like olive.
Basically carbs of every variety exist for the purpose of delivering butter, the above items just feature butter as a separate, highlighted ingredient - many other things are delightful because there is just so much butter IN them.

Butter: A Reason to Live.

I don’t like sandwiches that I make myself. I get someone else to make one for me whenever possible. I know exactly what I like and anyone can make a sandwich but the effect isn’t the same unless someone else prepares it. I only make my own as a last resort if there is no other food around and I am really hungry. Oddly enough, I am a decent cook and love almost everything else I can make and so do other people. I will make really good sandwiches for other people though. I just won’t eat any of what I made.
