the polyhedral dice and pewter figurines indicate membership in one of the ancient devil worshiping cults of the late 20th century.

The presence of an apparent early 20th century diving helmet, a few swords and large wire crate suitable for storage of large mammals were suitable precautions for their summoning rituals.

Anybody ever read David Macaulay’s book Motel of the Mysteries? It’s a hilarious look at the assumptions archeologists make when an ancient motel is dug out.

I think the funniest one is of the woman who is wearing parts of the toilet, as they were assumed to be sacred clerical relics. And the toothbrushes are earrings. This illustration is a reference to an actual photograph of Sophia Schliemann, wife of Heinrich Schliemann, who excavated the historical site of Troy.
The following is a link to the original photographs.

I read that book back in junior high, about the time it came out. I loved it then, it still makes me laugh today.

I also once read an interpretation, by those in the future, of what football was. They seemed to think it was some sort of religious ritual. Cheerleaders were priestesses and so on.

I’m not sure if my husband’s workshop area would be a puzzlement or not. There are woodworking machines, metal working machines, a CNC router, a 3D printer, and airbrush spray booth, an abrasive-blast cabinet, and all kinds of drawers and bins full of tools and supplies. And in the corner, a deep sink with a shelf full of dog shampoo.

_“What did he do to those poor dogs??”_

I wonder about the unearthing of Disney Land and other amusement/theme parks.

“My god, they built houses out of foam and balsa wood, it’s no wonder they perished”
