I was prescribed Neurontin for my restless legs syndrome, after Requip lost its effectiveness after about two years.
I took one dose, before bed time, and got severe legs cramps that had me curling up in the fetal position screaming in pain for about an hour.
I’d rate the pain as a 9/10.
Of course, I never took another pill, and told my doctor about it the next day. What I experienced was not on the list of known side effects.
The same thing happened when I took my first dose of Klonopin (Clonazepam).
Both drugs are primarily anti-seizure meds, so I will be very wary if I am ever prescribed anything in the same drug classes. Klonopin is a benzodiazepine, and Neurontin is a GABA analog, and I will avoid any of these.
