The BBC won’t say “killed” until they can back it up though the general tone of the reporting is suggesting to me that he is dead. ---

CNN showed a grainy cellphone picture that certainly looked like him bloody and lifeless, being carried by a group of people. ---

Shame. I mean, the world is no poorer for the loss of another thug and tyrant (we’ve plenty of spares left), but keeping Ghaddafi alive for trial would have been a neat demonstration of the NTC’s capacity for discipline and restraint, and to command that quality in its troops. Especially since the fall of Sirte was rather a messy affair, it would have been good to see that. ---

To make this thread pointless, I’ll note that the terrible early Fox sitcom [Second Chance](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Chance_%28TV_series%29) predicted that Gadaffi would die in battle in 2011. ---
