I will be getting him an antenna for his TV. Yes he has a bent up coat hanger sticking out of the back of his TV but that only allows 3 channel selections. I am also buying this so I do not have to keep bringing mine over if the football game happens to be on a channel that does not tune in using the said coat hanger. :rolleyes: ---

Ladies: All generalizations are wrong, including this one, but you can never go wrong by getting a guy a toy. Men want toys. We need toys. We all agree that men are just big versions of boys, right? Would you give a boy underwear and expect him to be happy? All you have to do is to figure out what kinds of toys he likes. Tools are toys. Gadgets are toys. Toys are toys. That is what we want. KRM, you must know my husband! He will be getting a few amusing t-shirts, a really cool drill bit set (it’s a monstrous one from Riyobi at Home Depot that will fold up all nice and neat and stuff), a 1/2" hammer drill, a Green Bay Packers tape measure (he has last year’s style - I am updating him this year) and assorted other “stuff” like his favorite candy and such. ---

A nice rosary, a CMAC (his martial arts organization) jacket, and probably a large box of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I’d get him some weapons, but they’re too expensive for this Christmas. He’s got two practice katanas, a chen (tai chi sword), and a bunch of other random Asian weapons, anyway. A few other undecided bits and pieces, too. ---

My boy is getting sports memorabilia. This year- a neon Patriots sign and a We Are the Champions dancing hamster. (He saw one and wanted it but didn’t buy it. I found it on ebay.) The best one I got was an actual bleacher seat from Foxboro stadium. He’s got most everything else and the budget isn’t stretching that far this year. It’s usually sports stuff or Simpsons stuff. It’s stuff he doesn’t buy himself. This strategy has worked so far. ---

Probably a framed photo of us (cue the “aww”) and a load of stuff from Bath & Body Works. [He’s enthralled by some of the soaps and candles in particular. This man LOVES him some nice-smelling soap.] Not sure what else past that, and if so I probably shouldn’t say anyways, since he may read this… ---

pasunboyfriend is getting one book by his favorite author (signed, at least supposedly–I haven’t seen it yet), one by an author he doesn’t know but will like, and a fold-out map associated with aforementioned favorite author’s work. Part of me feels like I should get him more, but we’ve only been dating for three months, and have been long-distance for most of that. Then again, we were friends for half a year before we hooked up…oh well. My shopping’s done. ---

Some random ideas for you all: How does he shave? Disposable razors? Get him one of those super triple/quadruple mach 19 blades (or whatever the nice one is) with some nice shaving cream and aftershave. If he’s using crappy disposables that come in bags of twenty, this present will be appreciated by him pretty much every day. If he uses an electric shaver, if it’s an old or crappy one, a nice new Braun would be nice. Does he play poker with his buddies? A nice set of clay poker chips would probably make him squeal with delight. Not plastic. Plastic chips are an affront to humanity. Nice cigars for the smokers, even if he never smokes cigars. If he does, a small humidore would be cool. Especially if it comes with some nice cigars. Does he play darts? Cause a dartboard and a nice set of darts would be way cool. Unfortunately, shopping for darts is extremely fun, so that’s probably not a good idea. A new dartboard, however, if his is ratty, would be wonderful. Along with new flights, flight protecters, and shafts, of course. Tickets to a sporting event is always awesome. Unfortunately, the absolute best ticket present is hockey tickets, which doesn’t work this year. NFL is too expensive, so maybe MLB, but that doesn’t start for several months. NBA? Sure, he might get jumped by a player, but that’s half the fun! Tivo. Best gift ever. Does he fish? New rods, or a tacklebox, or lures, or whatever. I don’t fish, so I don’t know. A nice chess set for the dignified man. These get expensive real fast, but you can find a reasonably nice one. I wouldn’t recommend a theme set, but that’s just me. He might love one. A netflix account? Or the videogame version of it? I don’t know if you can pre-purchase a block of time or what. Dark beer selection. A case would be good. If you find the right kind of store, you can mix and match at will. Two each of twelve varieties, or three each of eight, or four each of six, but then you risk having three undrinkable swills that he hates. Four sixpacks is never wise. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. ---

Also, an old-school Mario Brothers T-shirt, where a bomb is chasing the brothers, and a pair of pajamma pants with monkeys on them (we like monkeys).
