I found his brother’s myspace page amusing: “Hey folks! I’m Gallagher’s older brother Ron. I go around the country, booking shows and doing my brother’s act. Unfortunately, I took it too far a few years ago and sort of led people into thinking that I was actually my more famous bro. To avoid problems in the future, I started calling myself “Gallagher II” but by then my brother already put a cease and desist order on me and well, I was pretty much fucked. These days, I scrap metal and pawn things. I had a good run though…” ---

The part where he is griping about the audience is perhaps curmudgeonly, but again he has a point- I’m all for getting bombed in a local bar (Support your local bartender!), but it is a tad annoying when I go to the Funnybone and a bunch of braying jackasses are talking through the show/laughing at inappropriate times/heckling because of drunkeness. Why spend the cash if you are not going to remember the show? Furthermore, I would like to hear some of this “Hate speech” myself. It seems bizarre that he would be able to say anything approaching what is quoted in that article without the audience leaving en masse. /Not defending “Hate speech” per the OP, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Gallagher and this doesn’t sound anything like him or his shows. ---
