That was an expensive brothel for common soldiers, and I was wondering how they knew that Oberyn was there and to begin singing _Rains of Castermere._

You have to remember who owns the brothel, littlefinger gets his information from somewhere, so it would not surprise me if he comps a couple of girls for the “kingsmen” so to speak.

> I think Sansa is stupid. That seems to be the over-arching characteristic of the Stark Family - they’re stupid. They get outplayed by the Lannisters at every turn because they’re just plain dumb.

That seems to be oversimplifying the situation somewhat. There’s a lot more to their downfall than that.

Arya is a Stark, and she’s clearly figuring out how to play the game and survive. But at what cost?

Those weren’t the last words of her friend. Those were the words the guy she poked said to her friend. She spoke his own words back to him, and you can see _just_ before the blade went in that he remembered killing the kid and that the words he was now hearing were his own words.

The Starks always seemed to adhere to a code and were caught off guard when other people didn’t follow the same rules.

Take the cousin bonking and her rejection of Jaime because he wasn’t there for her while he was imprisoned and the fact that she’s a self-serving cunt and you get not really in love with anyone but herself (and her kids, but only by extension).

Except for the code where you a promised to wed someone in exchange for a strategic advantage in wartime, that code you can dismiss because of love and all that.

This. Ned Stark was Lawful Stupid; a good man in a den of liars, and he died for it. Robb was either Neutral or Chaotic Stupid. Robb made several severe strategic missteps, despite urging from Catlyn and his other advisers. Marrying Talisa and dishonoring his oath to Lord Frey. Executing Lord Karstark instead of keeping him as a bargaining chip. Robb was immensely stupid, and he paid for it with his life.

Agreed - it’s the **GAME** of Thrones, and the Starks aren’t playing it well at all. I guess you could argue that Ned had no intention of playing it at all, but he needed to find a way to stay out of it altogether, or get his shit together and play it properly, Code of Honour be damned. His precious Code has basically ruined his family.

The Hound was pretty amazing this episode:

[ul]
[li]What the fuck’s a Lommy?[/li][li]Lots of people name their swords. Lots of cunts.[/li][li]You’re going to die over a chicken? Someone is. [/li][/ul]

Pretty damn fun introduction to Oberyn Martell. Pretty fucking baller to roll into the capital and basically say “yo Tyrion, I’m going to kill your dad.”

[Omar]

Indeed.

[/Omar]
Also, I laughed out loud at Jaime waiving goodbye with his new hand.

I laughed at this too.
Maybe this show is just making me (more) suspicious, but did anyone else think it was hinky that the Fool (former Ser Dontos) chased down Sansa to give her that necklace and then insist that she wear it? I just felt like it was a setup. I am not a fan of Sansa in particular, but she should know better than to take things at face value like she seemed to do with this. He seemed genuinely grateful that she saved him, but he is a drunk and is probably easily manipulated by other, more nefarious parties.

Or, someone did something nice for Sansa because she did something nice for them.

Yeah, that necklace should have had a warning label and a countdown timer. I’m sure it will come up again at some point.

Which, of course, immediately reminded me of Joffrey naming his sword “Heart Eater”.

Lommy Greenhands was one of the kids going north to the Wall with Arya. When they got caught by the Amory Lorch gang, Lommy “yielded” and then declared that since he couldn’t walk because of his injury, he would have to be carried. Polliver immediately killed Lommy with Needle.

“What the fuck’s a Lommy?” is a line spoken by the Hound in the episode.

Love the show as always, but I had to grin during the garden walk scenes after South Park lampooned them so much.

I’d watch a spin off show of the Hound and Arya wandering around the country side righting wrongs. Brienne can come too.

Still feeling vague about the whole dragon thing. Daenerys hatched them in the pyre, so they see her as their mother, sorta. Except they still snapped at her because they’re still wild. Fair enough. The stuff about her family having dragon blood is just metaphorical…except when it isn’t? They have some sort of mystical connection, right? Why else would they hatch for her and no one else? Their magic caused her to not burn, right?

I guess I’m just stuck on whether she’s more like an incredibly lucky snake handler or she has this on lockdown because damn it, she’s the mother of dragons.

What exactly was Brienne expecting Jamie to do? Sansa is legally married now, and Catelyn is dead so you couldn’t give her back anyways.
