> I’m starting to think that the Faceless Men’s rules are “whatever the plot needs them to be.” Or that they’re bending rules to train Arya because they have special plans for her that go beyond her becoming just another cog in their order.

I think that’s likely the case. Either she is special in some magical way, or she is a crucial piece in the wars to come, or she’s an unusually useful tool for some special purpose.

For example, if the faceless men were hired by the Iron Bank to take down the Lannisters for non-payment, Arya might be very useful in that regard. Not only is she motivated, but she knows King’s Landing, she knows the Lannisters, etc.

But I suspect it’s more than that. There’s the whole scene with the poison pool, where she is told that if she’s not ‘just a girl’, the drink will kill her. She’s clearly not ‘just a girl’, but she survived the poison. So I suspect the test was a little different for her - they were testing her to see if she had the capability to resist the poison while still being ‘Arya Stark’. If so, she has powers the rest of them don’t. I don’t think Jaquen has ever believed that she has eliminated her own sense of self.

On another subject… After last week I suggested that maybe the Iron Bank would lend a fleet to Daenerys. But now we have a fleet of ships run by experienced sailors, heading somewhere. And is Stannis’s fleet still sitting at anchor? What if Theon and his sister go back to the North to make things right after Theon’s betrayal and to find a new home there, and they are offered Stannis’s fleet in return for their help against the Boltons? That would make for a mighty big fleet of ships - enough to take back the Iron Islands, or enough to go to Essos and pick up a whole bunch of Dothraki Warriors to help in the fight against the White Walkers.

Or, if the Iron Islanders settle in the coastal north and become Northmen, that would give the north a massive fleet of ships to use to assert power over the south, crewed by the best sailors on the planet.

I can just imagine how jolly a voyage will be with the ironbound having to deal with boatloads of seasick Dothraki and their horses. 😃

I assumed that was rented with funds from the Iron Bank. With the demise of Stannis, I imagine it would go back to Braavos. Stannis had very few ships of his own left after the Battle of the Blackwater.

Pin cushion Roz’s nudity wasn’t nearly as gratuitous (it had plot implications) and it wasn’t even full frontal nudity. Not sure if we’ve ever seen female full frontal nudity on this show. In fact, the only two instances of female full frontal nudity I ever recall seeing in movies or on cable would be Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct (only barely, and only if you freeze frame in hi-def) and Rosario Dawson in Trance.

Tons and tons of merkins, of course. But seeing actual vulva? Much, much rarer than seeing penis.

Cersei would have to wonder how LF got a hold of Sansa and then LF’s screwed if he goes to King’s Landing.

He already went to King’s Landing and told Cersei about Sansa’s marriage to Ramsay. ([Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lcx8gAM6wM&t=2m36s).)

Brienne said at one point that she knew Renly was gay, I think during the conversation about how Renly had been nice to her at the dance.

I think the voice said, “Yum, yum eat 'em up!”

And to all dissing Arya’s scenes for this episode-- I disagree that this week’s scenes were dumb and boring. The Waif taking her down without her staff was another great fight squence and the play, well it was quite entertaining all by itself and it showed great insight into Arya’s state of mind. More hope that she’s going to dig up Needle sooner or later and use the pointy end on her enemies.

It appears that White Walkers are created from those who are still alive. White Walkers raise people who are already dead as wights.

I perfectly understand how someone might have blocked it out of their brain but we got full frontal female nudity from Melisandre on episode 1 this season after she took off her necklace.

I wouldn’t say “super speed”. They couldn’t catch Meera dragging Bran in a litter.

The factual answer from the “Making of” on HBO On Demand is that they thought it looked scarier.

> I don’t get Bran’s story line. We get a brief glimpse of cool stuff and then nothing more. Who’s the guy, who are the druid chicks, what’s their conflict with men, what’s Bran supposed to do, etc. I’d take an exploration of any of those topics over another stupid fucking Arya training montage any day.

The “druid chicks” are the Children of the Forest. An old race of magical non-humans. They created the White Walkers as a weapon against the First Men who came to Westeros and presumably were as much violent jerks as the Men who are currently in Westeros now. The Old Dude is a guy with the same magical powers that Bran has. Presumably he stayed in one of his visions so long, the magical tree fused with him and now he’s stuck. He appears to Bran in visions in the form of a Three-Eyed Raven.

I also wish they explored this a bit more, instead of boring Arya training montages.

Do idea what Bran is supposed to do. Or how many White Walkers (Wight Walkers?) there are? We only ever see a handful, compared to the thousands of undead wights. And they’ve already killed three.

Likely true, but it would be a shame of a missed opportunity. I find them to be two of the best characters on the show and would love to see how a meeting between them would go. It could only be better by working Bronn into the mix too. Speaking of which, where’s Bronn been this season??

There’s been plenty of female full frontal nudity, its just that you can’t see female genitalia in a frontal view like you can male.

However, in that particular scene she used a baby dragon as a fig leaf. (Spoilered because NSFW)

I pretty sure when the High Sept, or whatever the old pervert was called, was in Littlefinger’s brothel and the Faith Militant came in and grabbed him, he was picking from seven girls (Two will cost extra!) and there was full frontal buffet there.
