I actually wonder if the lady with Margaery noticed something was up. Because Lady Oleanna was so adamant about staying and Margaery touched her hand and then oh wow suddenly she’s ok with going. I think I even noticed a look on the sister’s face like HMM. I dunno. I hope that doesn’t cause her any issues. I’m just so sick of those guys lol

As for not sleeping with Tommen, I wonder if that was a plot of hers to see if he’s still confiding in the HS. This way she knows he’s not to be trusted.

I feel like The Hound was in way worse shape when we last saw him than Arya was, so I’m confident that she will make a full recovery.

An abdominal stab wound need not be fatal even in primitive societies, if bleeding can be controlled, and if the bowel is not pierced. So positing the knife was deflected by a coin purse (or whatever) or for other reasons didn’t nick a bowel (which would almost certainly cause a horrendous infection) or a major blood vessel, chances are fair for recovery.

A couple of possibilities:
(1) They are all now followers of the Lord of Light, so maybe it’s simple religious zealotry
(2) Every criminal and bandit anywhere near that region now claims to be part of the brotherhood, because it gives them an air of legitimacy, but whoever did the killing was basically just criminals, not actually connected to Thoros of Myr and Beric Dondarrion.

Or some combination of the above.

Yeah disregard what I said earlier. I just watched scene again, no writing and your explanation makes perfect sense.

I’m wondering if Arya will end up with the ironborn now that they’re in Bravos.

Have we seen any of those Brotherhood guys before? Hound appeared to recognize someone, perhaps the guy with the beard who did the talking?

Is their marriage consummated. If not then it makes sense for Margery to protect her virginity, a powerful asset for a high-born woman in Westeros, and not waste it on a pawn like Tommen. At least not until her power over him, and the throne, is more secure.

> I think the Sparrow is the real deal, but he certainly does know how to play the game of politics.

I’m not so sure. I think he, like Littlefinger, is just another player trying to climb the metaphorical ladder. His story about him being of being a shoemaker rings false to me and, I suspect to Margery also. Now him being a shoemaker is probably true, but I don’t think his epiphany was about how decadent the nobility is but rather that he had no power over him. I think he’s a narcissist that gets off on using religion to lord over the masses and, later, the nobility. He doesn’t care about wealth, and the luxuries it brings, only power.

The problem with using religion as a weapon is that it can easily be turned on you. I think that’s going to be Margery’s plan against him. I predict a walk of shame in the High Sparrow’s future.

I could definitely see Littlefinger putting the kibosh on the Starks taking back the north. Once he realizes his army has the power to declare the victor he’s going to immediately weigh out which victory is in his and his alone best interests.
After Sansa had him dead to rights and begging for his life he may now consider her a threat that would be better off eliminated. He’s still in Ramsey’s good graces and he may negotiate a position of power with him if it furthers his interests.

There were a few scenes last season, one I remember is Margaery chatting to some other women about how Tommen wanted to gain the record for number of times per day or somesuch.

While the Brotherhood has been portrayed as pragmatic in selling out Gendry, I don’t think they’ve ever been shown as slaughtering innocents to rob them. The massacre seems out of character, and I’m guessing the Brotherhood wasn’t actually responsible. (But the Hound assumes they were.)

> _Is_ there anything they can do for an abdominal wound? It’s a medieval society; what are they supposed to do, take her to the local Shock-Trauma for some surgery and a round of antibiotics? Honestly, seeing her stabbed like that bothers me. Either she dies and her 2 seasons of training montages are a complete waste, or she survives a wound that should be fatal and that harms my suspension of disbelief. I thought this was a show where people are in real danger. Now a gut-stabbing is but a scratch, and dead characters are coming back to life. (Plus the Internet spoiled Jon’s resurrection for me.)

As a reminder, Arya drank from the poison pool in the House of Black and White with no ill effects. I’m wondering whether her survival might end up connected with this in some way.

Their marriage is definitely consummated as it was the power that Margery had over Tommen that got Cersei to revive the Faith Militant as a counterweight.
I think Margery is letting Tommen know that he can be religious and not get any or not be religious and have it like it was before. She is manipulating him for the time he has to choose between the high sparrow and her.

As shown by the teen pregnancy rates where religious based abstinence is promoted, I think we know what should win out in the end.

So the rose is just a ‘I’m still me’ message. Well, ok.

It’s just, well, if she is willing (and allowed) to openly tell her grandmother to go despite knowing what the High Sparrow wants I thought the secret message should be something … more. What I don’t know. Maybe if it indicated a different location that what she was saying.

I mean, if all she wanted was to reassure Granny that she wasn’t a True Believer, she could have done that easily enough by facial expressions with the Septa standing behind her.

Sorry for the double post, but a late thought:

Do you suppose the High Sparrow was testing Margery? As in, tells her he plans to go after her Grandmother, and wait for the Septa’s report on her conversation with Grandma?

I think that fits well, with this lot of vipers all scrambling for the top. Nobody trusts anybody.

Were they in the cave when the Hound had his trial by combat with Beric Dondarrian (sp?)?

I would think the Hound is one of the more recognizable persons in Westeros with his size and scars. If the Brotherhood guys were in the cave, you’d think they’d remember the Hound, though.

Yeah. Despite the earlier somewhat-menacing visit of the three riders, there’s no way for the Hound to know at this point that they really (a) are with the Brotherhood, (b) are worshippers of the Lord of Light, or (c) have anything to do with the massacre of the bearded septon’s followers.

I bet that won’t stop him from kicking some serious butt, though…
