This discussion is for the show as its own entity. There’s [another thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=20347039) in which the books can be discussed openly and compared to the show. In this thread, the books do not exist. Yes, I know the show has mostly passed the books, but it’s still cleaner to keep the discussions separate. It has been working just fine. Once Samwise is sitting on the Iron Throne, that won’t be a problem. Oops, I forgot no spoilers!! The SJ Merc had an interesting article in Friday’s entertainment section with a conjecture of the likelihood of the various main characters being killed off this season. I think they gave Sam a 50/50 chance. ---

Just rewatched the last 6 episodes with Mrs. Mahaloth so we’d be ready. Wow, last season was excellent. Re-watching it was great. I’m actually glad to be mainly past the books at this point. No one knows anything that is coming. I both look forward to the next 7 episodes, but dread the fact that the final season is still making us wait. I heard a rumor it may not air until 20 **19**. ---

Weren’t we promised a main event featuring the Mountain vs the Hound? Is that still in the cards? Also, I liked that both Jon and Sam recognized and communicated the importance of the dragonglass. ---
