How is it that ALL the women we see without clothes are well-sculpted downstairs? And the guys who maintain their 3 day stubble.

And we see NO women with stubble? Shit, those Northern women should be sporting mustaches themselves.

Why not? Maybe that’s the fashion in Westeros (in the TV version; IIRC the books differ in that regard). I’m reminded of a commentary track from an episode of HBO’s _Rome_ that mentioned that a certain degree of “sculpting” was the fashion in Rome at the time the show took place.

Clean-shaven is the norm[in Muslim societies as wel](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitrah#Sunan_al-Fitra)l, and has been since Muhammad. Certain Indian groups and Dynastic Egyptians, too. Most common reason I can find has to do with lice prevention.

Fashion isn’t a 20th and 21st Century invention, nor are sharp blades.

Thank you Captain Obvious. That’s a great explanation as to why you won’t find a single uni-brow or someone sprouting spider earhair on either continent.

“Winter may be coming, but ladies, don’t get caught with an embarrassing wispy mustache. Visit us at White Walkers Grooming!”

edit: Hell, I don’t even think we’ve seen anyone with back hair. I’d be the hairiest guy on that planet.

The characters we see are all upper class, no? And they all take pains with other aspects of their appearance, don’t they? It hardly seems implausible that they’d make similar attempts to keep their body hair within their culture’s standards of attractiveness.

Heh. Oh god no…if you’re female, you’re taking your clothes off.

Well, if you mean…those Wildling girls appear to be wearing some kind of makeup, so yeah, I guess so.

I remember reading once that you can always tell when a historical drama or fantasy movie had been made by looking at the women’s hairstyle.

Well, there you go.
