I hope the kid playing Joffrey doesn’t get too much grief in real life. It’s amazing how much hatred that character has already been able to generate. ---

Is anyone surprised that they omitted large battle scenes in the series? It’s what I expected and they did the same thing in Rome as well. And it’s the right choice given the tight budget of a TV show. I would imagine a single big battle with about 20 minutes screen time would cost as much as several episodes. I do hope they get more money in the second season but my priority would still be dragons and direwolves above battles . ---

**Moderator’s Note:** I know a lot of people are marking this as the end of the current season and so are feeling free to talk about everything that’s happened and everything that will happen, but _please_ refrain from bringing up content - even obliquely - that hasn’t been put on the screen yet in the episode threads. If someone wants to do a big “What we want from the next season” thread, that’d be a far better place for it. We’ve had a lot of people say they’ve been happy about having been unspoilt and we’d all like to keep it this way. - Gukumatz ---

When it comes to killing Aerys, I don’t think Jaime is ashamed.
