His sword was broken by the Kingsguard who was standing a couple feet away from him, at the ready. I expect, had he reached for a longsword, he’d have had his head taken off just as his fingers touched it. ---

I’m assuming that Syrio didn’t survive his encounter with the last guard. But I do agree that I would have liked to have seen more of him. ---

The throwing the knives away part was Drogo. That _was_ badass. ---

Nobody cares about the living dead coming back to rip people limb from limb and then setting dead family to kill live loved ones? I feel like Osha-- Hey! Bad shit is coming down from the north. Well, I can’t take Osha too seriously right now either. The way this thing is paced, we won’t be seeing the undead in the middle of town until the end of next season. Drogo: You are already dead. ---

But then you can’t look all badass facing off a knight with a hilt and 6 inches of wooden sword. Syrio knows looking badass is half the battle. ---

Syrio had 3 or 4 guys come at him one at a time before his stick broke. Somewhere in there he surely had time to pick up one of their swords. He certainly had plenty of time to banter. 😛 ---

And he was doing just fine with the stick. A thick, strong, hard stick has been an effective weapon for quite a long time. ---
