Something interesting occurred to me: observing the Northern lords in action provides a certain level of insight on Ned Stark; namely, that while his exaggerated honor and blunt honesty were completely wrong for King’s Landing, those same qualities would be perfect for keeping men like his bannermen in line. How long do you think someone like Littlefinger would have survived against those savages? ---

I think whenever the show does one of its sexually shocking moments it scores a double hit … it cranks up the sexual hottitude of the show, a plus for some of us, and it establishes the differentness of the culture of the Seven Kingdoms from our culture. Win-win! for them, and for the viewers. Hence, little Hodor. ---

I am always in favor of nudity on television, regardless of whether I find any particular instance personally appealing, because the more nudity there is in general the higher the likelihood that there will be appealing nudity. So, I give two thumbs up to Monster Tardcock. If there’s a giant wang swinging free in one episode, that increases the chances that there’ll be full beaver in another. ---

Just went back and watched the Syrio fight again. I missed this the first time, but I love how he strangles one of the Lannister guards with his own cape… awesome. ---

I just really really hope that HBO doesn’t wuss out, and the final scene of the final episode of season 1 features the graticious, full frontal nudity that we’ve been waiting for all season. ---

Wasn’t intentionally trying to spoil anything. Is it really a surprise at this point that there _might_ be some hard core nudity in the grand finale? Have there been any episodes yet that didn’t have any at all? ---

He swung him around by the cape to keep him off balance and keep separation with the other soldiers and he finally wraps the cape around his arms and shoulders to bind him before whacking him in the face. After rewatching the scene there’s quite a bit of sword clanking and screams of many men, at least 3 or 4. It’s clear that it’s not just Syrio getting cut down, but another extended fight with at least a few of the Lannister men getting sliced up. Syrio must have gotten his hands on a metal weapon and continued the fight for a while if the sound design is remotely accurate.
