Gaming computer help (Andromeda-related)

I want to build a new machine with that for the OS and 6TB of raid 0 HDD.

Well, I have Andromeda installed and I’m playing it with no problems at all. I let the game set the level of detail on auto and it’s all working fine.

On the plus side, I’m saving several hundred dollars on a new mobo, CPU, and memory. On the downside, no new PC for me yet.

That first-gen Core i7 really is amazing.

Thanks for all your help, everyone!

Glad it worked out well for you.

What kind of quality settings do you get on auto? You can sometimes get better graphics if you [del]fuck about[/del] experiment with the graphics settings instead of relying on autosettings.

According to GEFORCE Experience (I’m showing the current settings and I’ll put NVIDIA’s recommendations in ):

Ambient Occlusion: NVIDIA HBAO [Off]
Anti-Aliasing: Temporal AA [FXAA]
Effects Quality: High [Medium]
Graphics Quality: Auto Detect [Custom]
Lighting Quality: High [Medium]
Mesh Quality: High [Low]
Post-process Quality: High [Medium]
Shader Quality: High [High]
Shadows Quality: High [Medium]
Terrain Quality: High [High]
Texture Filtering: High [Ultra]
Texture Quality: High [High]
Vegetation Quality: High [Medium]

FWIW I was able to get it to play but only with everything set to the lowest. When I tried raising some settings to medium I would get crashes. Only played long enough to make a character and a few minutes of the tutorial so I may be getting ahead of myself though.
