Don’t do this, the more people ya got walking in the yard the better chance of making sales.
True enough..my experience, however, is that people coming to the sale for gold, silver, and jewelry actually don’t browse. I used to get a bunch that would drive up, not even get out of the car, and ask if I have that stuff. When I said no, they drove away. They were just going garage sale to garage sale looking for very specific things.
It’s a trade-off..but I suppose you might get some who think they only want a few specific things, but do find something while browsing.

Put up signs with both an address AND an arrow. Lots of signs around here just have the “Yard Sale --123 Fake St”, as though every passerby just happens to know where that address is.
We go to a lot of sales, and the biggest pet peeve is people who don’t take their signs down after the fact. At least date them if you’re not going to remove them so we don’t spend time looking for a sale that doesn’t exist.
And when you hang the sign, make sure it’s flat so it can be read. A lot of signs here are on posterboard or something similar, with one nail/staple/whatever in the center, causing the sign to curl inward shortly so as to be virtually unreadable to passers-by.
