# Garmin Map Purchase Options

Two questions about purchasing Garmin GPS maps:

1. I purchased a Garmin for the exclusive purpose of going to different cities in Germany. I want to purchase Garmin’s Europe map package (for $100), but I also see they offer maps for specific cities. I would certainly hope for $100, the Europe map package would include the level of detail needed for city driving?

2. If I purchase a download, I want to be sure the download “unlocks” on the correct device. Can I download the product to my hard drive, and then move it onto the Garmin device (via USB)? Otherwise, downloading direct via USB will take forever, I imagine.

Can some experienced Garmin users give me the inside scoop on maps…and how to be sure I don’t “unlock” the map on the wrong device?
