Note that other shows broke the fourth wall before _IGSS_. E.g., George Burns talking to the camera on the old Burns and Allen show. But Shandling delved into the concept of a TV show itself and brought that to the surface. E.g., the [del]_Lassie_[/del] _Laddie_ parody episode, complete with the lovely June Lockhart. And you gotta love a show where they brought in Tom Petty once to sing the theme song. It is surprising that of Larry, Artie and Hank it’s Larry who went first. Favorite episode of _TLSS_: _Office Romance_. Larry is dating Darlene. Artie’s comment on how it would mess up office politics into the next century was great. ---
