He was married to former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley. Hosted the pagent a few times.

I think he hosted a game show? That seems where I remember him from.

If you mean the _ST:TOS_ character, that was Robert Lansing. [Here’s](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004833/) Collins’ IMDb entry. Very busy in the 60s and 70s, not a lot after that. Low point was probably _Bandit: Bandit Bandit_. (Yes, that is a title of a TV movie.)

He played a beauty pageant MC in _Beauty_ with Minnie Driver in 2000. Reality and fiction blurred.

He always struck me as someone who thought he could get by on his looks, while having no talent whatsoever.

He should have been born a generation or two later.
