# Gas clothes dryer died. Again. Recommendations on a new machine?

It is a very old machine and we’ve sunk enough money repairing it in the past. Time to just replace it. Anyone with advice?

What’s the budget, and do you have any plans of replacing the washer any time soon?

LG’s new steam dryers are pretty spiffy, but they go for around $800 on sale.

At the apt complex I work for, we always buy Kenmore. They last and you can always find them on sale.

Our Kenmore is an electric, not a gas model, but we’ve had it for 18 years and are quite happy with it.

As a point of reference, LG is making the current Kenmore Elite washers and dryers. I believe the mainline Kenmores are made by Frigidaire / Electrolux. (Think they’re the same corporation now)
