I don’t get out of the midwest often, but here in Missouri and in all the neighboring states I’ve bought gas in, the advertised price includes all taxes. Where are you and what taxes are not included in the pump price?

I’m in Germany and here all taxes are included. But I was under the impression that state taxes aren’t included in the advertised prices in the US. Apologies if I’m wrong.

On most items, the advertised price (i.e. what runs in ads and what you see on store shelves) DOES NOT include any applicable taxes. On gasoline, the advertised price (the price on stations’ billboards as well as on the pump) DOES include all applicable taxes.
