Forget gas prices. When is the government finally going to do something about Thursday? When???

> So yes, gas pricing does work that way. No, it’s not a conspiracy. It’s gas station owners figuring out how to make a profit. If you won’t want to put up with it, do as suggested above and buy gas the day before it typically jumps.
>
> For those of you that doubt that jumps happen, check out [this chart](http://www.minnesotagasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx)for MN gas prices.

Sure, but it’s look also at [your graph with the price of crude oil added](http://www.MinnesotaGasPrices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx?city1=Minnesota&city2=&city3=&crude=y&tme=1&units=us).

Probably goes some way towards explaining the jumps, don’t you think?

I put in my zip code, and I got this:

> No current gas prices reported.

Your cite is underwhelming.

But if you think this is a real phenomenon, then engage in a little arbitrage. You could get rich!

Have you tried lying down in front of the bulldozers?

Yes, except other locations don’t see the same correlation, or the weekly pattern.
[Iowa](http://www.iowastategasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx)
[Wisconsin](http://www.wisconsingasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx)
[New Hampshire](http://www.newhampshiregasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx)

I never claimed there is a conspiracy", only that the trend the OP sees does occur in some places.

It’s not that they jack the price up on Thursdays,
it’s that it’s on sale the other 6 days of the week.
