# Gastro-Intestinal? You Be the Judge

I awoke this weekend with a pain in my abdomen and haven’t been able to self-diagnose. It’s located an inch deep in the front-left underwear-waistband-area of my gut. At first it hurt without being provoked, but now it’s only sore if I push on it or when gas passes by (or through) the sore spot. It sort of feels like the dull inner-ache I have after receiving a swift blow to my testicals (though I didn’t). BTW there’s no discoloration or other external visuals. I was going to seek immediate medical attention if it progressed, but it’s leveled off, so I’ll just see my doctor when I go home in a couple of days. I was first worried that it might be an appendix problem, but now I wonder if I might be living with a hernia. Any guesses?

p.s. yes, I know that the best thing to do is to get professional advice and no, I won’t take sdmb advice in place of going to the doctor.

Forgot to mention that it can’t be the appendix, because the appendix is on the right side.
