Or about “body issues”? The OP was asking about something that “didn’t sit well” with her that another thread got her musing over. The comment wasn’t something I think anyone that isn’t overly sensitive would get worked up about. I don’t recall what the long discussions here were about, but the OP said she has gotten more attractive. Someone jokes that he bets it was a boob job. Just not seeing this as a warnable offense. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” doesn’t even get a wrist slap? ---

**Gato** makes snarky remarks. It’s his thing, for the most part. In any case, his remark was his usual fare. We have all been warned on double, secret, we-really-really-mean it, not to be jerks when folks want to talk about sensitive topics. He was a jerk. He earned the warning. ---

I’m not going to search for it, but the long discussions lead to a specific rule. Basically, a lot of women were tired of bringing up their bodies in serious contexts–social or even medical–only to have a few posters go “Hurr, hurr, boobies” like they were a 12 year old on 4chan. The mods made an announcement that anyone doing this would get a warning. That’s what happened. ---

I read this post out of curiosity, wondering if the warning in question might be the sort of mod overreaction that sometimes happens. Nope. When someone asks a sincere question about a sensitive personal matter, there is _ **NO** _ situation in which a tasteless joke is an appropriate response, and being offended in such a vulnerable situation is not being “overly sensitive”. ---
