May be a good REM song. But, let me emphasize this, **NOBODY DOES IT IN FLORIDA LAKES.** Alligators love to hunt at night. I cannot believe how stupid this guy was. I’ve read about someone dangling a foot in a Florida lake at night and getting pulled right off the dock. SWIMMING?!

Personally, I saw a transplant (not-native Floridian) letting her chocolate lab. swim in a lake. This was around 8 in the morning. But for me screaming at her, the 10 foot alligator stalking her dog would have had a tasty snack. Then, of course, she called animal control claiming the alligator was a nuisance gator. They came and shot it. I guess to someone not from Florida, pretty much every alligator is a nuisance gator. We just have learned to coexist with them. This involves staying the hell out of the water at the wrong place and times.
