Nope. They still suck for live streaming. I’m in a campaign that meets every couple of weeks and we use Roll 20 for the maps and the mechanics, but we all talk over Zoom. (The DM has access to a paid account so no time limit.)

We tried using Roll20’s live chat in the beginning, but some were having problems hearing the audio of others.

Just cutting in to say, ditto. I do a lot of Roll20 gaming; we mostly use Discord, or occasionally a conference call. Roll20 is amazing for the most part, but the audio and video chat functions suck.

Yeah, trying to get the A/V to work when we first started almost tanked the game before it began. We use discord as well.

I’ve never used discord. How do I set up an account?

Do I have to install something on my computer? I found a page saying I can download for Windows, but when I try it gives me an error message.

What error are you getting when trying to download it?

  1. Try “Download for windows” button, get an error message.

  2. Try “open Discord in your browser” button, get a screen instructing me on setting up my own discord server. Is that what I want? I thought I had to join Acsenray’s server.

What’s the specific error you’re receiving? We might be able to help.

With the Browser option - is there a menu option on the top left somewhere that lets you join a server?
