For the first time in my entire life, I’m taking a large umbrella out with me to use as a shield against the brutal sun. I also plan to hydrate heavily and indulge in one of the medical community’s great treatments for loss of water: a NYC hot dog vendor’s pretzel. 😃 How _you_ handling the heat? ---

Air conditioning, copious amounts of [decaf] iced chai with milk, ice cold watermelon and a nice chopped salad for lunch [my usual lunch, actually] And killing stuff in GW2:D ---

The a/c at Chateau Pepperwinkle went out Saturday evening. We’re sweltering until the repair dude fixes it today or tomorrow. ---

97 percent humidity in Denver. That almost never happens here. I can take hot, and I can take humid, but hot and humid makes me stabby. ---

We haven’t had any heat in Atlanta yet. I think it’s going to happen soon, though. We handle it by living in the water. ---

The heat and humidity here in NH are just awful. Mid 90’s today and not sure the humidity, except that I’m sticky within minutes of stepping outside. I just bought a second A/C unit for my place last night. So, I’m dealing with it with copious amounts of A/C. ---

Hiding out in my back home office with the air conditioning on. Temps are predicted to remain the mid-nineties here in NJ until Sunday. I’m going to bathe the Maine Coon later tonight to help cool her down. ---

My furnace came on yesterday morning - it’s 12ºC (53ºF) right now, at 12:19. Yeah, I don’t know why I’m posting this, either. 🙂 ---

It’s actually kind of nice here today… 75 and overcast. This extended rain seems pretty atypical for a north Texas summer- typically it just doesn’t rain from early June through late August/early September. And if it does rain, it’s for like 15 minutes. ---

The UK is currently experiencing a heatwave. I’ve been spending my summers in Northern Ireland for the past five years, and I’ve never seen anything like it. We’ve gone a full week without any rain. Still, “heatwave” in NI is a relative term. I had to laugh at the weatherman when he said something like “it’s going to be 15C tonight (59F) so you might be a bit uncomfortably warm.” Yeah, I think we’ll survive. And my mother in law complains about the heat when it’s 24C (75F). In Seoul that would be positively pleasant. ---

It was 97 degrees and 50% humidity yesterday afternoon at this time, and our swamp cooler was blowing warm damp air. Right now, it’s 73 degrees (and about the same humidity, but who cares?) and I’m loving it. It’s been overcast all day, and we’re all just having a generally good time. It rained last night, too! We got 3/4 inch at our house, which is more rain than we had from January through June. My feet are cold, and I’m loving it. ---

It’s not as hot (ironically) in South Florida. It’s 82 degrees right now. I’m dealing with it the best I can. I have two kegs of cold beer on tap, and two kinds of home made ice cream in the freezer. I lowered the hot tub to 95 degrees. (I probably need to be ready for a parade of Dopers showing up…) ---
