Moreover, consider that persons disenfranchised by the system have little to no incentive to cooperate with the larger society if the injustices wrought upon them are forever being ignored as low priority. Admittedly this applies more to the 60s Civil Rights movement than to same-sex marriage, but I see little reason why gays should forever be told to wait till next year when the prohibition of their marrying is so manifestedly wrong. ---

That is indeed a challenge. Fortunately everyone get’s older and wiser. And remember, you only had one chance to run the first black presidential candidate who will make the world love us again. Naming post offices consumes about as much time and political capital as gay rights in Congress. Perhaps the OP is confused by the double entendre “stimulus package.” ---
