And Mario adopted the role of Papa… so I still thinks the Birdo theory applies. Both US and Japan have been exposed to the others sequel eventually. I just love the game because it’s the blacksheep! I can’t see your POV too. There are more than just characters that changed in the game. TMK | Super Mario Bros. 2 Madness | From Doki Doki Panic to SMB2 I am intrigued by you Bowser theory. Perhaps they are both gay, but Bowser is just too big for Mario. So when Mar-man rejects him, Boswer captures his trophy gal with the intention of exposing Mario’s secret… out of jealous rage! ---

Thanks for the correction–based on information from game ROM sites, I had been under the impression that all the characters were male. That part about the “high jumping Mama” character becoming Luigi for SMB2 was also very interesting… 😃 ---

I don’t know about Rabbit, but my little girl had always referred to Piglet as a “she” whenever we read Pooh books together. It threw me for such a loop that I finally took the books out of her room after bedtime and searched them for a masculine pronoun used in reference to Piglet. Finally found one. ---

I’ve always thought of Elmer Fudd as a raging queen. Also, on “Home Movies” there are two little kids, one is named Perry, and the other’s name escapes me. Very, very gay. h. ---

best thread in a long long time. maybe there should be two categories: deepest in the closet most out fred from scooby doo gets my deepest in the closet vote. popeye and brutus gets my most conflicted duo vote. and after much deliberation, snagglepuss gets my most out vote. does anyone else find it odd that there is so much material here to work with in what is, essentially, an art form most directed at children? ---
