According to this CNN headline, they are baking under a dome of heat, not boiling. _East Coast bakes under dome of heat_ Sounds terrible. Hope everyone’s AC is in working order. ---

I have heard many people make the same mistake, so yes, I’m sure that’s what happened. 100 F is very hot indeed so that number gets tossed around when there’s a heat wave, and 100 C is water’s boiling point (at sea level blah blah blah) so people sometimes get a little confused. ---
