Does anybody remember that shampoo from the 70’s? I used to loooove it. They even brought out a perfume for a while there too. It’s been discontinued for yonks but a few years ago I was rummaging across one of those ‘Dollar Stores’ bargain bin kinda’ places and I came across a few bottles of the shampoo. Needless to say I bought all of 'em! This was a long time ago and I haven’t seen this particular shampoo around since. Has anyone else seen it recently or will I just have to be content with memories? ---

Ha! I remember that. No help on where to find it, though - I haven’t seen it since the 70s. I remember that, and the “beer shampoo” phase where it seemed like every shampoo out there had beer in it. Combine them, and it would make a shampoo that made your hair smell like beer, sure to attract all the guys in the bar. ---

Thanks **Squink**. I looked it up and was almost tempted to buy some, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $25.99 for shampoo and conditioner…and then another $20.00 for shipping to Ireland!!! :eek: I guess I’ll just have to wait till my next shopping trip to the Phillipines. 😉 ---

IIRC the same ad agency tried to repeat their success with a tampon called “Gosh Your Vagina Sure Isn’t Bleeding!” but it failed to catch on. ---

TCBY now stands for “The Country’s Best Yogurt”, but it started out as “This Can’t Be Yogurt.” Another chain (which, IMO, had better frozen yogurt) was ICBIY, or “I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt.” It was a very incredulous time… ---

My mother bought “Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific” for awhile back in about '78. I used it and the inside of my baseball cap smelled terrific, too. I used to take it off and smell it every so often. ---

Seeing this thread reminded me of a non-PC joke from the era: A midget walks up to a beautiful statuesque woman at a bar, stands in front of her, inhales deeply and says: Gee, your hair smells terrific. (Ducks and quickly runs for cover) ---

I have a coffee-table book about patent applications for failed inventions; one of them was an extract of women’s hair, to be added to food as an appetite stimulant (based pretty much on the reasoning that women’s hair smells terrific, therefore it must be good for you) ---
