# Geico "Sequels: Return of the Savings"

Saw the commercial for this a bunch of times but kept forgetting to look it up. Apparently it’s a new marketing campaign built heavily around social media. [Link here](https://www.geico.com/sequels/).

Lessee…

Coffee / Lumber - I’m reminded of the royally asinine (and way, _way_ WAY too long) “Energizer Bunny interrupts commercials” campaign. I _hate_ non sequitur advertising, and having annoying pests who get away with it is another huge minus. No and _no_.

Parking - Transparent whiny schmuck gets into trouble, breaks stuff. Bleah.

Date - Transparent whiny schmuck strikes out with a woman, breaks more stuff. Bleah.

Food Truck - Good Yukari, the only thing worse than puerile gross-out humor is _ineffective_ puerile gross-out humor. Absolute fail.

Heist - …

Ehhhhh…it’s got a bit of action, and I kinda-sorta liked the gag at the end. What the hey. [votes]

Well, it’s gross out humor with the raccoons’ food truck, but it’s spoken gross out humor which is classier than your average fart joke, so…

Besides, the throwaway line, “That’s just your rabies flaring up,” is genius.

I got the feeling that line should’ve hit for me, and it just didn’t. Maybe it’s my own medical history.

Just took another look, and it looks like the raccoons are about to win handily. Not too surprised at this. Disgusting animals aren’t the easiest thing to make into a funny commercial, but at least there was SOME effort, dammit.
