Gender issues in a 2nd grader?

Well, I’m interested in finding out if there is any resolution and answer, but in the meantime I’ll just agree with lavenderviolet.

Sometimes kids just say the darndest things.

Gah, I’ve been trying to reply all day, and the boards have had more down-time than a 50YO guy who’s desperate for Viagra!

At any rate. . .Hokkaido Brit, if mudgirl continues to hang out or talk about Sarah, a play date is indeed a possibility!

Soul, some interesting info there. There’s a lot of homosexuality in my family, but no transgenderism or gender confusion that I’m aware of, so I’m less familiar with it.

lavenderviolet, very true about kids experimenting with their identity! That’s another possibility.

matt_mcl, yes, times have changed, thank goodness! I’m pleased to have helped play a minuscule part in that change by teaching my kids to “live and let live”!

If I figure this out, I’ll keep you all posted!

Recently there was a case in the media of a first or second grader in Florida who was pretty clearly trans. I’ve forgotten most of the details but I do remember ‘I want the fairy princess to make my penis into a vagina’. So, awareness can occur that young.
