Gene Hackman and wife found dead, and dog

Argh. Celebrity Death’s on Cafe Society generally do not devolve into legal issues over wills and lawsuits. And (no pun intended) I’m guilty of it too as I asked if his wife was the only one in his will, and she died first (and since then I’ve read she had charity plans unfortunately not expressed in legal documents) and Hackman might not have preferred the son who got the high-priced lawyer and this as $85 million tends to do (esp. to estate lawyers who take a cut) this is a legal battle.

Estate Lawyers aren’t the stuff of Great Debates on the Dope. I only meekly ask that this bummer thread continue on FQ.

And so I did so: Gene Hackman's Estate Lawsuites

Flagged my FQ thread to the mods for closure. Right now it’s all about gossip.

Division of Kingdoms is ACT I of King Lear, and we do not yet have the facts.

My mother and I had lunch at a nice restaurant in downtown Portland. Our server was Kyoko, a woman my mother’s age (mid '80s) who told us she was witness to the mushroom cloud over Hiroshima. She was a most wonderful person to meet.

Betsy Arakawa’s death is now officially listed as due to hantavirus.

No kidding! I thought it passed the point of good taste a while back, but the “messy house” photos clinched it for me.

If I suddenly died this morning, the photos of my house would be interesting.

I guess the new slogan should be “Llive Fast, Die Young, Leave a beautiful house”?

Rich people are assumed to have staff to ensure their every mess is cleaned up as it hits the floor.

Reality is more mundane.

I’m busy trying to leave a beautiful corpse.
P’shaw. Clean house? Who cares?
