I once started a thread titled, “[Hands Up, This Thread Is Going To Cuba](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/hands-up-this-thread-is-going-to-cuba/9483)” that turned into that sort of a thread. I think it was the first reference to “hijacking” in terms of derailing a thread here on the SDMB.
