Any chance you could rename MPSIMS while you’re at it? So some newcomer isn’t put off by the implication that their mother’s cancer diagnosis is a mundane and pointless thing? ---

I would not be a fan of renaming MPSIMS. It’s been around forever and gives the place character. And I can’t remember the last time I saw anyone confused by it, or posting in there instead of a more correct forum. ---

I’ve never been confused by it, but i do find it disconcerting that topics like “someone dear to me just died” end up there. I guess with the old meaning of mundane, relating to the world rather than to spiritual matters, that’s okay? ---

My recollection of the response was that the name is partly ironic, and partly recognition that one person’s deeply significant topic is another person’s mundane pointless stuff. Essentially, not to take that part too literally. ---
