Even though I’ve never seen it abbreviated as such, I can tell you that there have been several times I’ve wanted to tell a poster to fuck off and die because it’s such a common insult, and have always refrained from posting that particular phrase because of the rule against wishing death on another poster. I like some of the alternatives suggested here, though. 😃 ---

IMO, that’s a pretty mild restriction on an otherwise broad-open span for expressing anger, outrage, and similar Pittish behavior – and it is conducive to a somewhat more civil environment in which to express such anger/outrage/whatever. 4. Snark is fine. Part of what drew a lot of us here is Cecil’s way with snarkiness. But it seems to me that there does need to be some sort of limit, so we don’t turn into the Internet equivalent of the dysfunctional family reunion that everyone hates attending. Where that line is, I don’t know. (Actually, **Carnal K** ’s input might be useful here. He has a connoisseur’s appreciation for snark, but also the sense to know how far to go and when to stop – further than I would, to be sure, but his definition might be just the one we need to suggest the maximum permissible.) ---

I always preferred “Eat Shit And Die,” maybe because of the delicious (?) ambiguity of whether the speaker wants you to have a terrible final meal and then die or wants you to die from e. coli poisoning resulting from the fecal partaking.
