The last time I donated blood, freshman year of highschool back in the last milleneum (about 1981-82) The nurse asked a bajillion standard questions.
The only one she didn’t ask, that I was a-waiting for is: are you having your period.
I was.
I donated.
I shouldn’t have.
Woooooooooooo. Not a good combo.
I also had to have some blood work done for a routine physical recently and my period had just ended the day before. wooooooo. need.to.lay.down. Apparently I hadn’t restocked enough of the red stuff. That and the fact that I had a nurse who either failed basic phlebotomy or rode the short bus to nursing school and took about 30 minutes to do a simple draw of my blood and I was bored with being pricked and decided to get light headed. The doctor, however, was a hottie. So thats a plus.
What were we talking about?
