# "Genie: A Modern-Day Wild Child" died?

I was doing some research for an English paper and I somehow stumbled on some information on feral children. I read about Genie (a young girl who had been tied up in a room by her mentally deluded parents and was discovered by the time she was 13 or 14). The story is really sad. I also found a SD column: [Feral Children](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a3_046.html), for some reference (Cecil mentions Genie in the last paragraph). I’m just wondering: does anyone know if Genie died? I can’t find any websites that say if she died. I’m just wondering.
