Witch Hazel. Soothes my skin and helps with razor burn. Very little smell after it dries. Skin Bracer is what I use when I want a nice fragrance. I’ll pass along this secret. Don’t tell anybody. 😉 Back in the 80’s, I finally got my 70 year old barber to tell me what body talc he used after shaving the back of my neck. I had loved this smell since I was a kid. I had used the same barber all my life until he retired at 77. Clubman Pinaud Finest Talc I love the smell and so does my wife. Apparently a lot of barbers use it because customers love it too. I’ve found it at Walgreens and Amazon has it. ---

I honestly haven’t thought about after shave since I was about 10 and would watch my dad putting it on. I’m 47 and it’s so far from my mind, I wouldn’t have been surprised if I found out that all after shaves had been taken off the market 25 years ago. Needless to say, I don’t use anything. ---

As several others, I use no aftershave. In fact, I use no shaving cream at all. Just water from the shower. ---

Rubbing alcohol. Then some kind of lotion, currently vanilla scented something-or-other from the cheap shelf at the grocery store. I generally shave in the shower, so the lotion is part of the after-shower ritual rather than the after-shave ritual. That is, I put it on whether I shave or not. I don’t use shaving cream, just baby oil and soap, so the only scents I have are deodorant and lotion. After my last barber shave (my wife gave me a gift certificate to celebrate my new job) they used bay rum, which was kind of old-fashioned smelling but not gross like the Axe my son used to slather on himself. I don’t use colognes as a rule, based mostly on a passage from the Bond novel _From Russia with Love_. I don’t shave with a razor very often-- maybe once or twice a month. Mostly I just trim it down to stubble with clippers. When I do shave, I splash on a little Royal Lyme afterwards. ---

I used to use the alcohol based after shaves by Mennen. It took some years till I took seriously comments about how awful it smelled. Way too cheap and strong. Now I use Nivea aftershave. Cooling and pleasant faint smell of mint. ---

I don’t do aftershave, but I do wear Burberry Brit cologne every day. Usually just a few squirts on my undershirt so it’s very subtle and never overpowering. But everywhere I go, I have women (that I don’t know) comment on how good I smell…if I was str8 it would be a dream come true! 😃 ---

Joop. Years ago I went to the shops at lunchtime to buy some perfume my wife wanted. Although I didn’t use aftershave the salesgirl tried to sell me some and put a splash on my wrists. When I went back to work the young lady I was working with said, “What are you wearing? It smells great.” I have used it ever since.
