It took me about 24 hours, but I finally figured out what this whole spectacle reminded me of. [Mel Torme singing to Kramer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlRJkdjmBcM). Especially the moment in the video when GWB looks over at Michelle and starts singing at her (0:35-0:38 in the OP video). And W’s facial expression during the whole thing looks like he either got punched in the face by Jimmy in the hallway or was still experiencing the effects of Novocaine. ---

I cannot see how anyone could justify his behavior here. That was no somber sway. Everyone around him looked baffled but they regained composure quickly. Mrs. Obama gave him a smile, Mr. Obama looked away with a bit of an eye roll, Mrs. Bush looked mortified, and Biden honestly looked so sad there’s no telling what was going through his mind. People behind laughed. In my opinion he looked toasted and giddy. That is not a normal way to behave, I don’t care who you are. I am not a political person and even if I was, he’s not really important politically anymore. I just see a guy behaving weirdly at a serious occasion. To me he looks toasted. ---

As someone who hated Bush as a president, my only comment is that people who get bent out of shape over how a 70 year old man behaves at a memorial service are weird. ---
