So I’m pretty comfortable rejecting it out of hand. I’m also pretty comfortable making the assumption that the Ninth Circuit State Attorney’s office didn’t confuse their star witness for a mentally disabled girl. ---

We were all in collective shock, trying to make sense of the senseless, struggling to accept that something so terrible could happen— that our enemies could, with seeming ease, reach out and cause so much harm when we weren’t paying attention. Telling ourselves there _had_ to be more to the story, and that it couldn’t be as simple, and as horrifying as it was.
