OK, this link goes to the _Atlantic_ magazine news site, says nothing about the SUV being on fire. This just in… President Obama made a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room Monday to share his thoughts on this incident. “It could have been me in that SUV 35 years ago,” Obama said, during extensive and deeply personal remarks that lasted for 18 minutes. “I was just…you know, a really bad driver. I rarely checked my mirrors…sometimes I would be eating a burrito or ah something similarly delicious…and ahh…you know… not really paying attention to what I was doing.” ---

The number of cars 1 to 5 minutes up the road from an accident (and so close enough to help) but out of sight of the accident is far larger than the number close enough to _see_ the accident as it occurs. The police report won’t mention people who helped out, but didn’t witness it, because helping out doesn’t help establish what happened. I personally have come upon considerably more than I’ve actually witnessed, and the cops never even took my name once I told them I arrived after the fact. Pretty much everybody who has put in a decent number of miles will have experienced the same. ---

The annoying thing is not that it’s ZIMMERMAN. The annoying thing is that it’s news. Just let him go back to his life. He was declared not guilty. Can we stop talking about him now? Lets be clear about why this is news. Conservatives want to point to this and say “See?! He was a good guy after all! You liberals were wrong about him! GZ was innocent and he should have been able to shoot TM and things happened exactly as he said!!” Drivel. What he does afterwards has no bearing on the case, just as his lawyer’s slandering of a dead kid has nothing to do with the events of that night. Hell, GZ probably is trying to do this to get publicity, knowing the story will come out. He’s still a murderer to me and if conservatives disagree, maybe they can tell me how great OJ is for trying to find the real killers :dubious: ---
