I have vowed that my wife will never see that one. It describes me just a wee bit too well.
Why in the hell would Obama want her to be his fundraiser? She must think he’s just dying to give up $5 million dollars of his own money like Hillary had to do.
CNN reports African Americans chose Obama over Clinton by 92%. I don’t care what side you’re on, that is just, just incredibly impressive!
What, you think any self-respecting black would vote for the candidate running the race-baiting campaign?
Ferraro has now responded to the criticisms by digging her hole deeper…
From here:
I just emailed Bob Casey to ask him to join with his fellow superdelegates and step in to give the Clinton campaign a little talking-to. This is going beyond the pale and I really think the whole thing is going to hurt the party immensely.
Obama is a smart and capable politician whose message of hope and change from the unconscionable motives and tactics of the past, (and present!) is driving amazing people—of all colors—to register, to donate generously and to vote for him.
I don’t care what color he is. He’s my candidate based on his philosophy and honor.
Hillary seems to be trying to start a race war as a last ditch effort to satisfy her fantastic ego and pull a rabbit rabbit out of her…hat.
If the media is biased toward him, and away from her, perhaps it is because they are professional observers of politics and they see her for what she really is.
Hillary has no shame and she deserves nothing but contempt.
Just found this interesting tidbit over at Daily Kos:
I should say that the bulk of the media coverage I see, and I’m a news junkie, is fair and neutral on the whole. There are, of course, partisan commentators on both sides.
The analogy of “working the referees” has been used, and Hillary has been good at playing the victim, especially during the Ohio and Texas races.
Farraro’s comments should have been immediately rejected and denounced by Clinton, but it doesn’t seem to be forthcoming.
That’s what I meant when I said she seems to be starting a ‘race war.’
I don’t recall Ferarro being all that qualified for VP/POTUS - wow, three terms in the House of Representatives, with no prior executive service. Mondale chose her because of her lack of a Y chromosome, as well as her NY Liberal Lawyer credentials.
And I agree that she’s utterly irrelevant, being incapable of converting her campaign for VP into a Senate seat.
If you factor in Obama’s Illinois Legislative experience and legal background, you’ve got a similar level of gravitas.
Pot, Kettle: Kettle, Pot
Except, in the case of Obama, there is a level of charisma and cult of personality that Ferarro lacked. In a way, Obama is more about voters being fed the fuck up with the current set of politicians. If the pissed-off voters need an avatar, Obama is it.
But this will only help (for now) Obama, as it is yet another tired, old, irrelevant, bitter “Establishment Democrat” attacking Obama. The Obamaniacs will simply deflect the entire broadside - repeating, zombie-like, their mantra, Change!Hope!Whatever! in the face of any and all criticisms, be they valid, hateful, bigoted or otherwise.
Of course the Lady MacBeth Campaign will, and has, use the same old bipolar shift and dodge when either arranging these attacks or benefiting from spontaneously originating attacks - HRC doesn’t care either way. She’s a bit like the severly defective person who craves attention, and is gratified regardless of the tone of the attention, accepting praise and using any criticism as a basis for reinforcing a remarkable Martyr/Victim complex. When she’s right, she’s right. When she’s wrong, she’s right.
This is not going to end well.

Well put.
If anyone watched GMA this morning Geraldine was given a shovel by Diane Sawyer and she essentially dug her own grave on national television today. Again. It was odd, because Diane is an outspoken Clintonista, and even she was taken aback by all the interrupting and racist bullshit coming out of Geraldines mouth. I sat infront of the tube aghast at the blatent BS coming from Geraldine.
Sorry sweety, but you just dug Clinton and her camp even deeper. If Clinton doesn’t come out with a flat out renounciation of Gerladines comments she’s going to run the risk of her campaign being cast in an even darker shadow.
What the fuck was GF thinking? Did she not see the LARGE TV CAMERAS ON infront of there…Hello Geraldine - your on the air! At least temper what ytou say a little bit!
Nope she went right on saying exactly what she said a few days ago, and sounded just as stupid. And to say she’s not working for the Clinton Campaign, that she’s just on Clinton’s Finance Committee Finance Committee for What??? Dunkin Donuts?
“Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says let’s address reality and the problems we’re facing in this world, you’re accused of being racist, so you have to shut up,” Ferraro said. “Racism works in two different directions. I really think they’re attacking me because I’m white. How’s that?”
I’m wondering who is the “they” that she is talking about.
I’m wondering who is the “they” that she is talking about.
She has no clue - she kept saying Barak this, Barak that…on GMA this morning and Diane Sawyer had to correct her several times saying Barak never said this or that… It was ludicrous to watch, it looked like she was a wide eyed heathen scrambling for a pot to throw her piss in. She really looked desperate this morning.
It’s sad to watch someone I formerly had at least a tinge of respect for, suddenly morph into a Limbaughesque you-can’t-tell-it-like-it-is-without-being-labeled-a-racist-what-about-the-poor-white-people routine.
I suspect there is frustration elsewhere in the Clinton camp on not being able to score on racial division, though they’re too smart to let it show (except for broad hints about how Hispanics allegedly don’t support black candidates).
"Shame On You, Barack Obama! You…you…NEGRO!!!"
Ferarro’s remark was stupid. If anything, it can (and probably will) sway people away from Clinton and toward Obama. People are funny that way, they vote against people that piss them off.

I’ve noted before, in a totally different context, that all-star seasons of the reality shows I watch almost invariably tarnish the players for whom I’ve had the most admiration in their own time.
This primary season has been feeling a lot like that for a while.
The idea that Obama’s lead is invalid because black people are voting for him because he is black is patently stupid. Once you start parsing and approtioning votes based on motive the entire electorate is suspect.
Hillary only won Arkansas because she used to be the First Lady of Arkansas. Most significantly, there are plenty of women out there who are voting for Hillary because she is a woman, and good for them, they can vote however they please.
But taking an apparently arbitrary slice of Obama’s black vote and pretending that these are the only people not voting in a completely balanced objective manner makes no sense.

Okay, I’ll finally weigh in. I’ve been reading the thread with interest since I thought the back and forth was interesting (As well as rather spirited) because realistically each side had a bit of merit. That was until I saw this link and the GMA showing. Ferraro managed to prove that she’s in the wrong.
Sigh. I wish Edwards was still in the race so I could be called a racist AND a misogynist.

This is an amazing primary campaign. At one stage there were three candidates: one oversupplied with melanin in his skin, one oversupplied with X chromosomes, and one fitting into the category that all previous presidents of the US have belonged to. So, back when, only one would have been considered electable, but he’s now out of the race. It proves that race and gender are no longer the barriers they used to be in US politics, even if the playing field isn’t completely level. And it also proves that people playing the race card and/or the gender card like Ms Ferraro are no longer as relevant in politics as they once were. Welcome to the 21st century!

oversupplied with hair.
Speaking of the Mill-Worker’s Son, he’s been sidling back and forth on an endorsement quite a while now. If he doesn’t sell himself pretty soon, his market value will plummet.
This article has a clip of the GMA interview. This part took the cake:
“The spin on the words has been that somehow I was addressing the his qualifications. I was not,” Ferraro said Wednesday on ABC’s Good Morning America. "I was celebrating the fact that the black community in this country came out with a pride in a historic candidacy, and has shown itself at the polls. You’d think he’d say, ‘Yeah thank you for doing that. … we want to say thank you to the community.’ Instead I’m charged with being a racist."
Didn’t Bill say something similar after South Carolina? Why is this lameass bullshit becoming the standard response of these fools? No one believes it.
