Sigh, Hubby’s mom used to make sauerbraten& potato pancakes with gingersnap gravy. She’s now old and doesn’t cook. Her caregiver tried to reproduce her recipe; no joy. I’m trying to find a place that makes such a thing. It sounds awful to me, but I’m willing to try it…once. The problem is, I’ve checked every German place in Seattle. Some have it on their internet menus, but not on their_real_ menu.:rolleyes: Any ideas, my Seattle neighbors? ---

I could go for a real Wienerschnitzel. Not a fake chicken or pork one. With pommes frites and an anchovy on top. Or I could just learn to make it myself. ---

Bruno’s European Cafe in Tacoma; I think Sauerbraten is the special on Saturdays. Call ahead and see if they’ll take a reservation. I tried to get in a few weeks ago and the place was packed. ---

**Bob Ducca** , yes, that was the first one I called. **Robot Arm** I’ll give them a call. **Johnny L.A.** Google German food in Seattle, that, they had. The closest I came was a place in Ballard called the People’s Cafe. They have it as a special, but other than calling every day to see if today is the day, I have no way of knowing. ---

real sauerkraut doesn’t taste sour. it tastes a little like dry red wine.
