# Gerrymandering results in special election for NC

[Virginia’s appeal](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/courts_law/supreme-court-leaves-in-place-va-redistricting-decision-rejects-gop-lawmakers-challenge/2016/05/23/1940110e-20f2-11e6-aa84-42391ba52c91_story.html?utm_term=.caa820270e45) just a few months ago didn’t work, so don’t expect NC’s to.

I did NOT say OR suggest that the 12th Congressional District was _created_ for the purpose you state. I said to look at it NOW for an idea of how it was manipulated by the Republicans for the purposes I said. I also most expressly in the same post pointed out that the Democrats had done similar things with the districts being used just prior to the 2011 re-districting, or did you miss that bit?
