No, you don’t get to take advantage of me. I’ve got a four day weekend starting Thursday, and I’m heading down to Carbondale to visit my old roommate and some other friends. Now, normally I’m a stickler for Rolling Rock, but I was thinking I might try something else this weekend. Recipes for mixed drinks (which don’t include gin or Southern Comfort, thanks) or shots are welcome. And although I’m sure I will be aflame at some point this weekend (Statue of Liberty shots are _not_ fictional; see the “Guy Stuff” thread), I’m not particularly interested in drinking stuff that could peel paint off the walls. * * * And the problem with small furry animals in corners is that, just occasionally, one of them’s a mongoose. 3 mile island iced tea 1 shot each of: Vodka triple sec Tequila Light rum Whiskey The fill the remaining glass to the 2/3 mark wirh sweet and sour fill the last 1/3 with coke and add a dash of bitters * * * Magnificent to behold - Greatly to be praised. ---

I, too, think Southern Comfort is vile and putrid, and yet my favorite shot has SoCo in it. You can’t taste it at all, thank Christ. Since I’m not sure about the exact proportions, you may need to experiment. Your bartender may or may not know how to make it. Hawaiian Punch: Malibu Coconut Rum SoCo Amaretto splash of pineapple, splash of cranberry. The other way I’ve seen it, w/o SoCo: Malibu Coconut Rum Stoli Orang Amaretto Splash of cranberry, splash of pineapple. Or, for a blue version: Blue curacao coconut rum pineapple juice. ---

The best margarita you’ll ever taste: 1 shot high end silver tequila 1 shot Cointreau or Grand Marnier 1 shot freshly squeezed lime juice Put in a shaker filled with ice, shake, pour over ice. If you drink more than 5 in one night and can still stand, you’re the winner. Prairie Fires (shots): 1 shot gold tequila a spoonful or so of frozen concentrated lime juice (the stuff you make limeade out of) Tabasco. As much as you can take. Yummy Rum Drink: 1 shot or so of dark rum ginger ale pineapple juice sprinkle nutmeg on top ---

One of my recommendations for a lot of booze in a tasty vehicle. Long Beach: In a pint glass over ice mix 1 part Bacardi Rum 1 part Silver Tequila 1 part Tanqueray Gin 1 part Absolut (Citron and Mandarin make nice twists) 1 part Gran Marnier (Triple Sec will do) Orange juice Cranberry juice Squeeze in some fresh orange and garnish with a twist. Lemon Drop shots always get me started: Absolut Citron Sugar Lemon slice Pour sugar on the lemon, lick it off, do the shot, suck down the lemon. Lunch box shot: Rocks glass filled half with beer, half with OJ Shot glass filled 1/2 with amaretto 1/2 with SoCo. Drop the shot glass into the rocks glass, and begin chugging. Flaming Dr. Pepper: Rocks glass filled w/ beer. Shot glass filled 1/2 amaretto 1/2 with 151. Light the 151 and drop into the beer, then chug. Super Duper Rootbeer: Captain Morgans Rootbeer Schnapps Rum 151 Coke (Or just a Super Rootbeer without the 151) ---

Oooo, I like the sounds of this one. OK, do you take the first three digits, and mix the liquors corresponding to the bottles and do one shot, or do you do three shots, one representing each digit? Now we need a way to make this competitive, and a group sport. I think we have a goal for the Chicago SDMBVF. ---
