So it would color-co-ordinate with her outfits, while looking dainty and feminine. Duh. 😃 ---

Didn’t 99 actually say once that she was carrying a red gun because it matched her red shoes? ---

I thought it was because it matched her bag. while we are here, is it just me or did Barbara Feldon have (particularly in the first season) one of the _sexiest_ voices ever on a TV character. I swear, listening to her speak is like having Tia Maria poured in your ear. ---

I actually asked this of the guy who runs the ‘official _Get Smart_ page’. Here is part of the exchange: **Carl Birkmeyer:** It’s red because it’s more ladylike. **Me:** That was… one of my assumptions. Was this ever stated in the show, or by cast or crew? **Carl Birkmeyer:** It wasn’t stated that way in the show. I don’t know if it was ever discussed in print or not, but that came up in one of my conversations with Leonard Stern. ---
