Bowling shoes. And ice skates, if they count. Are you a good bowler? ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [May 20, 2009, 1:50pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/get-to-know-each-other/489836/882 "2009-05-20T13:50:06Z")
Not very, although I enjoy it. Have you bowled in the past month? ---

Nope. In the last year? Nope then too. Do you curve the ball or go for power? ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [May 20, 2009, 2:41pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/get-to-know-each-other/489836/884 "2009-05-20T14:41:06Z")
Power. I’m really not good enough to do anything else. Do you crave political power? ---

Straight down the middle. I’ve got slender fairy wrists, I can’t do that spin stuff. ETA: Oops. I crave ALL POWER! Do you like Pop Tarts? ---

Very much so, especially the frosted strawberry kind. Good to pop 'em in the microwave on a cold winter’s morning. Is there a food you hated as a kid that you now love? ---

Not really. I’ve always eaten most everything. And to round up: Yes! I’d be a great “White Despot”, but no one is willing to make me one ☹ Is Democracy the best possible political system? ---

As Churchill said, it’s the worst system of government, except for all the others that have been tried from time to time. Do you think you might ever run for office? ---

Wouldn’t mind being Mayor of Orlando someday. Do you prefer to drive or be driven? ---

Drive, unless it’s a long trip over relatively straight roads, in which case I’ll happily curl up in the back seat with a book. Would you accept a Rolls Royce if one was offered as a gift, no strings attached? ---

Um… f\*\*k yeah? There’s no way I could afford to insure it, but I could sell it and get something smaller and more practical. Like a house. 😉 Stick or auto? ---

Stick. Auto is cheating 😉 Are you answering this from a laptop? ---

> [@WormTheRed](#): > > Are you answering this from a laptop? Nope, a desk model computer in one of the Purdue libraries. Are you attending any high school or college graduation ceremonies this spring? ---

Nope. The Boy has to finish one unit to get the degree he walked for last June, though. There will be much rejoicing when that is over. Will you be going to a reunion this year? ---

Nope. Do you have non-basic cable? (Digital, satellite, etc) ---

Sometimes I have 100+ channels, but usually I only have two. Sometimes is when my digital box decides to be 1337 and nice to me (I have no idea what happens). Do you watch a lot of TV? ---

Hardly… If I’m in the mood for a movie I’ll watch something from HBO on Demand or something. I’ll also check the news a few times a week just to get a few laughs. Have you ever been to a psychologist? ---

No, although there have probably been times when I might’ve benefitted from it (and the parents of one of my best high school friends were _both_ psychologists and very nice people). Have you ever met a head of state? ---

I’ve met no one in the realms of politics - not knowingly, at least. Are you well-coordinated? Can you throw a ball accurately without looking like a buffoon? 😛 ---

> [@EpicNonsense](#): > > Are you well-coordinated? Can you throw a ball accurately without looking like a buffoon? 😛 Sadly, no. Do you often have variations of the “back in school after thirty years because I never took a course that I needed to pass in order to graduate” dream?
