For a full on conversation? No… but it happens occasionally. If I don’t feel like talking to the person I’ll just text also. Have you ever eaten something you thought or knew you’d hate, but actually enjoyed it? ---

No. We either go to eat at our favorite pizza place, or get the 'za as takeout (they don’t deliver). Have you seen the movie _Downfall_, about Hitler’s last days? It’s quite good. Nominated last year for a Best Foreign Film Oscar. ---

I’ve told this elsewhere on the Board, but it was 1989, and I was living in northern Thailand. They were filming _Air America_ in the town where I lived, and it was flooded with movie people. I’d just picked up mail from home and was occupied with that in my favorite restaurant, near my house, when five or six guys came in. They seemed to be working on the film but I thought just production crew or something. It was floor cushions in that place, and the owner, a nice lady named Lak, had picked up a variety of Western dishes from the backpackers who had come through, especially Mediterranean fare. She made a killer moussaka. One of the guys asks me what’s good, and I told him the moussaka was good. Then I went back to my mail. The next morning, I stopped in for breakfast on my way out into the province. Lak was all excited. She told me: “Mel Gibson was in here yesterday!” I said: “Oh, that’s nice.” Her: “Yeah! You talked to him!” Me: “I talked to him?” Her: “Yeah, you told him the moussaka was good.” Ah, so that was Mel Gibson, I thought. Thinking back, yeah, it was him. Ever serve on a jury? ---
